Welcome to Doncaster Eye Centre

The current Doncaster Eye Centre was established by Drs Troy Lim Joon, Alex Poon and Maged Atalla in 1999. The building is an architect designed, purpose-built ophthalmology clinic, which was completed in 2004. A new on-site car park was built towards the end of 2016. We now have ample parking for our staff and patients.

The practice has since expanded and we now have eleven ophthalmologists all with varying expertise, providing exemplary eye care for our patients.

Doncaster Eye Centre has recently amalgamated with Hawthorn Eye Clinic (HEC). Dr Mark Ellis has been joined by Drs Poon, Lim-Joon, Au, Chow, Chong, Edwards, Fan-Gaskin and Wong in providing ophthalmology services at HEC. HEC is located at 829 Glenferrie Road KEW and their phone number is (03) 9819 2882. Visit their website here.

The doctors and staff at Doncaster Eye Centre are committed to excellence and we strive to provide our patients with the highest possible ophthalmic care. We regularly attend conferences and clinical meetings to ensure that the most up-to-date and effective investigations and treatments are available to our patients.

Besides English, we have doctors and staff members who can speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Italian, Arabic and Spanish.

In response to the Covid-19 outbreak, we wish to reassure you that we are following the recommendations of the Department of Health and Human Services, and of our professional and governing bodies, in doing our part with preventing the spread of Covid-19.

We require anyone who attends the clinic to wear a surgical/disposable face-mask. If you feel unwell or you’re experiencing any symptoms, please call us on (03) 8850 4000 to reschedule. If you are a close-contact of a Covid positive person, please reschedule your appointment if it is not of an urgent nature.

For unvaccinated patients, please refer to our policy here.

With the current Covid outbreak, we need to minimise exposure risks to our staff and patients by limiting the number of people in our waiting room. If carers do not have to attend with patients due to language or mobility issues, we kindly ask that they wait in their cars, or even go home, and we will call them to collect the patients when they are ready. For paediatric patients, we permit one parent to attend and no siblings are allowed.

The health and well-being of patients and staff members remain our absolute priority. We thank you for your kind cooperation.
